Tetsuya Matsumoto was born in the Mizusawa, Iwate prefecture in 1976. Due to family circumstances, he lived at an orphange until he was 12 years old. Listening to a guitar played by his male nursery school teacher, he became interested in music. When he was a junior high school student, he got his own guitar, it was the first toy that he could use freely. After graduating junior high, he moved to Tokyo in order to forget his miserable life. His toy guitar became his dream.

Floating from job to job, he kept singing on the street. In 2000, he became the champion of the street musician contest promoted by a radio agency. In 2001, he sang at the coming of age ceremony of Mizusawa. By then, he drove towards his goal, to become a professional musician.

In 2002, aiming for his debut, he formed a band, 'may club band' with characteristic musicians. His band began recording. To this day, they are making excellent unified music.
