The first guest of the month is Kagrra, who is about to play a show in South America tomorrow!
As July's theme is "festivals", the members voted on who loves festive stuff the most♪ Who do you think got the most votes, and with what reason?
Festivals are a charm of Japan filled with elements that feature traditional culture.
Some wind through the town with a portable shrine called "神輿 / Mikoshi" on their shoulders, while others enjoy the festive atmosphere on the streets lined with numerous stalls at night.
A big festival in July is Tanabata, or Star Festival!
The Star Festival stems from a story called "七夕伝説 / Tanabata Densetsu" in which a tragic couple, "織姫 / Orihime" and "彦星 / Hikoboshi", are said to be able to meet each other only once a year on the night of July 7th by crossing the Milky Way, or "天の川 / Amanogawa". In the story the separation was due to punishment the previously hard working couple received for becoming lazy once they got married.
"天の川 / Amanogawa" is a collection of stars that spreads beautifully like a flowing river.
"織姫 / Orihime" is Vega, a first magnitude star in the constellation Alpha Lyrae. It's often called "織女星 / Shokujo sei" in Japan and considered to be a woman in the story.
"彦星 / Hikoboshi" is Altair, a first magnitude star in the constellation Alpha Aquila. It's often called "牽牛星 / Kengyu sei" in Japan and considered to be a man in the story.
Also, they say that if you write your wish on a long strip of paper called "短冊 / Tanzaku" and hang it on a bamboo branch on the day of the Star Festival, your wish will come true. How about writing your own wish on a strip of paper and hanging it somewhere, even if it's not on a bamboo branch?
Anyway it's time to take a peek at Kagrra,'s wishes♪
The members would be pleased if you could help them to fulfill their wishes!
