Saki had no choice but to follow the man.
“It's hard to trust someone you've just met for the first time.”
“I know that. But people always meet like this. It's risky for me too, taking someone I've just met to our office, you know.” The man spoke to her as she walked a half step behind him.
He weaved his way through a crowd of young people in Shibuya. Saki followed hurriedly so as not to lose him.
“You can't improve your singing skills if you stay on the streets. You must have proper lessons every day, you know?”
He often looked back at her, who nodded with a glum face.
“I know it sounds rude, but you've got a pretty face. I'm sure it'll be a success if we do things right.”
He turned around again to see Saki's reaction, but she just nodded in silence. He spoke in a serious tone to her as she followed just behind him.
“You have skills to write songs and also good looks, but you lack in opportunities to be heard by a lot of people. More importantly, opportunities to stand in front of many people and expose yourself.”
They had passed ‘Shibuya Rokugen' and ‘Koen Dori' and were walking up along ‘Organ Zaka'. His office should have been just around the corner, but they had come a long way.
Saki kept walking, staring at the back of the stranger and nodding whenever he said something.
Just when they went down the back street leading off the main road, she felt someone grab at her shoulder from behind. She jumped with surprise and stepped back.
“What are you doing?”
