In this limited period diary written exclusively for ‘Ko-Miyavi (仔雅; Miyavi fans)', we will report on the myriad dramas taking place around雅-miyavi-. During his world tour we will send updates from all four corners of the globe!
#3 Saturday, September 19th, 2009 (Clear skies) Moscow
Today was already the third day of this journey!
雅-miyavi- and co. made preparations for the opening night of the tour. The Moscow concert was about to begin.
It was the first time for雅-miyavi- to meet Russia's ‘Ko-Miyavi'. What sort of ‘Ko-Miyavi' would there be to greet雅-miyavi- on his first ever concert in Russia?
As everyone gradually became excited, the van made it to the venue in 20, 30 minutes!
Upon arriving the van was quickly surrounded with fans that had been waiting for him to appear!
The cheers and cries from the fans attracted even more ‘Ko-Miyavi', and that created quite a stir. But the members and staff were all pleased to see the fans' happy faces.
“Wow, they must have waited a long time for this…”
Having seen in person how passionate the Russian ‘Ko-Miyavi' were, 雅-miyavi- got geared up as well.
雅-miyavi- then came up with an ingenious idea on how to share the excitement with the雅-miyavi- fans in Japan and around the world! He handed a staff member his iPhone, and asked the staff to interview the fans!
First the staff went up to a fan that was standing at the very front of the line!
“How long have you been here?”
The fan replied “From 7 o'clock in the morning!”
The lowest temperature for that day was 9 degrees Celsius. But under the cold Moscow sky she was already fully dressed up in cosplay. Even from before the live performance, she showed how much Russia's Ko-Miyavi were ready to rumble!
(Note★ There weren't any designated seats for this venue, so to secure a good position you had to come as early as you can.)
When the staff continued to film the crowds with the iPhone, the Russian ‘Ko-Miyavi' gathered and without any prompting started to sing Happy Birthday! [雅-miyavi-‘s birthday is on September 14th]
Afterwards, when 雅-miyavi- was getting ready for the concert in the dressing room, he watched the Happy Birthday movie repeatedly.
He seemed moved, and said “I'm really happy…”
During the long journey雅-miyavi- couldn't get much sleep. He took short catnaps while in the van and when he was being applied makeup in the dressing room.
But the fans' warm message was more than enough to reinvigorate雅-miyavi-!
A hungry雅-miyavi- went to the catering booth and came back with a unique combo of potato chips with a French roll (Actually, those two were pretty much all that was left. So he really didn't have a choice).
“I'm full.”→(A few minutes later)→”Oohhh I feel siiick…” Seeing雅-miyavi- eating potato chips was a very rare sight, but unfortunately that seemed to have cost him dearly.
After that he practiced MCing in Russian, and also reviewed his performance routines. He then rehearsed with his band, and was interviewed by the local media. He conducted the entire interview in English. Everything went by in a blur and before you knew it, it was time for the concert.
We will write up and post a live report to celebrate the first show of the tour in the near future.
